COLDWORKING
Lamination
Scattered Glass Remembrance Earrings and Pendants are created with the cold glassmaking process. The initial form of every sculpture begins by sifting cremation ash between layers of glass panels. These panels are layered on top of one another and bonded together with a specific archival adhesive. Once this adhesive cures, the layers of glass and ash are permanently bonded to become a single component.
Sculpting & Surface Finishing
This newly formed glass component is then sculpted to create the final form. Similar to sanding wood, the process to smooth and adorn the glass surface is incremental and can often take days to bring the surface to a final finish.
