Scattered Glass Shipping


Once Scattered Glass receives the cremation ashes, your order will ship within 2-6 weeks. Different creation processes take different amounts of time to complete with care, so we will keep you notified of the expected delivery date. Please let us know if you have an anticipated date to receive your item. Extra time may be needed, especially during the holiday months of November through January. 

Please contact us before placing your order if you have any questions about the shipping or delivery process.  

Once your order is placed, Scattered Glass will send you a Collection Kit which can be expected to arrive within 10 business days of placing the order. This kit includes items to ensure that collecting and mailing the cremation ash is a simple process. USPS Priority Mail Express is our selected mailing service based on Federal shipping guidelines. Therefore, we will always provide a tracking number.

If you have an urgent order, please consider purchasing a gift card instead of ordering a specific item.

Please keep in mind that the pieces shown are examples of the designs available. Every piece is individually handmade and cremation ash is just as unique, so slight variations are to be expected. Small bubbles or other imperfections may occur during the production process. Therefore, your final product will vary. We work with you as needed to help you understand what these slight variations may entail. 

By placing an order for artwork, you are consenting for Scattered Glass to inlay the cremains or other specified materials into glass. You recognize that once the ash or other materials have been incorporated into artwork, they cannot be returned to their original form. Any remaining ashes will be safely returned to you along with your art piece.  


Scattered Glass highly respects the privacy of our clients and under no circumstances will the information that is requested from you be shared with anyone. If you decide to involve others in the process of designing or receiving artwork, Scattered Glass will only share with those designated persons the specific information that you request. 
We are incredibly appreciative for your reviews of our service and art purchases made by Scattered Glass. To display client reviews, we have contracted a third-party developer. Due to the process involved in creating custom artwork for every client, we are unable to give a full refund for all cancelled orders. If you decide to cancel an order within 30 days before we receive the ashes, Scattered Glass will provide a full refund. If you decide to cancel your order after we have received the ashes, you will be provided 50% shop credit. The other 50% helps to compensate for shipping, design and material costs. Any shipping costs needed to return the ashes to you will be deducted from the initial order charge. 


It is not possible to completely separate ash from glass once the artwork has been created. Therefore, we are unable to accept returns. If you have any questions at all, we highly encourage you to contact us before placing an order. Please also contact us if you have any questions about the art piece that you receive.


It is the client's responsibility to provide the ashes or other organic materials in order to make the custom item requested. If we do not received these materials, your order will stay open for 1 year. 
After 1 year, if you have not sent the ashes and have not responded to our messages, Scattered Glass will close the order and you will be issued store credit for the full order, less shipping costs. We understand this is not an easy decision and that these kinds of things may take a long time to work through. If we do hear back from you in the future, Scattered Glass will honor your complete order.


We use USPS Priority Mail Express and therefore will always provide a tracking number when any items are mailed to you. Scattered Glass cannot be responsible if your package gets lost or stolen while being transported. If this happens, you will need to make a claim to the Postal Service. 



Not all countries allow ashes to be shipped. Once you confirm with your country's postal laws, please contact us before placing an order.


*The Scattered Glass Collection Kit includes shipping materials that comply with USPS regulations (Publication 52, Sections 451.22, and 451.3 - updated 2019) relating to the packing and transportation of cremated remains, powders and other dry materials.
